Just released in August, 2009, The Carbon Charter provides a new tool in the movement to combat climate change.Written specifically for those involved in the public arena, Godo Stoyke's book highlights sustainability legislation introduced by policy-makers worldwide in sectors ranging from transportation to green building. In each section the author provides examples of government initiatives that protect the environemnt and promote sustainability, particularly in the areas of green building, sustainable infrastructure and environmentally friendly transportation. Along with these examples, Godo provides copious references and links to the texts of the government bylaws, statutes, ordinances and legislation enabling sustainability, all of which can serve as templates for similar initiatives elsewhere. Not only does Godo point out the pressing need for legislators to take action on issues like climate change and sustainability, but he also provides law-makers with the tools they need to get the job done.
